The red carpet is laid out, the stage is glittering, the rehearsals are over, the barricades are lining the streets — and die-hard wristband-wearing fans began arriving at 6am today to secure a coveted street-side spot… Yes, today some of the biggest names in music and Tinseltown stars will descend upon Queen St W in downtown Toronto for the 20th Annual Much Music Video Awards. Mega-watt teen stars Jonas Brothers are co-hosting so the streets will be lined and overflowing with screaming, rabid fans. But they are just the tip of the iceberg of the celebs that will be heating up tonight’s stage: Lady Gaga (who will open the show), Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Nickelback, Shiloh, Kim Kardashian, former Hills star Audrina Patridge (who I swear I saw shopping at H&M on Bloor St yesterday afternoon), and my personal fav Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob of Twilight and New Moon fame). The show airs live tonight on Much at 9pm ET, red carpet starts at 7.30pm.

I will be tweeting backstage about all the action and who’s wearing what. Plus I’ll be popping into the Gift Lounge to have a look at the swag this years celebs will be receiving. After my incredible trip to Tofino for Roxy Surf camp, I decided to take a few days off to explore fall in love with Vancouver and ended up making Yaletown my home: I stayed at the posh Opus Hotel, ate tons of seafood, did a little bit of shopping (I may have even visited Barking Babies and Marimekko twice) and no, I did not spot any Twilight stars.

I met Canadian celeb Jarvis Church! (He was the lead singer for The Philosopher Kings — I still love “Hurts To Love You” — and the producer for Nelly Furtado’s debut album, among many other projects.) We met up at the swank Opus Hotel in Montreal to chat about his upcoming album The Long Way Home. He was super nice and friendly, and totally cute in real life.
