As seen on celebrities!

And we’re off! We all know that for a seamless and sophisticated summer look, the key is to focus on accessories. What could be better to make an outfit pop than a hot pair of shoes or oversize sunglasses? Celebs are well aware of the trick, and they put it into action like pros. Click on the pics below for the shopping details on these star-spangled items.

This month, we’re treating ourselves to:

Dressed for a cause

lauren-conrad-this-is-my-dressLet’s just cut to the chase: which fashion-obsessed girl hasn’t dreamt of perusing another fashion-obsessed girl’s closet. Looks like Jessi Cruickshank (and her PR team) are channeling just that for her latest project, This Is My Dress.

She’s auctioning off her closet’s best dresses in the name of giving back to Free the Children: an organization (which she’s an ambassador of) run by young adults helping out young adults living in Kenya. The goal: raise $8,500 between now and November 17th to put towards building a school in Kenya with Free the Children.

The best part? An insider with the Hills’ It girls, she got them to contribute some of their fab dresses to the cause. From vintage Dolce & Gabbana to Greta Constantine, Acne and Lauren Moffat each one-off dress up for grabs has been worn on the red-carpet, at premieres and the (drama filled) after-parties by either Jessi, Lo Bosworth, Whitney Port, Audrina Partridge or Lauren Conrad.

The bidding’s already two days in with no sign of slowing down already, so get in the game! Just do me one small favour and keep us posted via Twitter @louloumagazine if you snag something….especially if you’re the one who scores that Carrie-worthy vintage D&G I’ve got my eye on.

polish-sm

So this week I’ve done a little switch-a-roo. I’m wearing a deep raisin polish on my fingers (OPI’s Boris & Natasha) and a coral-orange (OPI’s My Chihuahua Bites!) lacquer on my tootises. Normally, I do the exact opposite: light up top, dark below. One of my coworkers commented that it was committing a near sin and a massive faux pas, but I couldn’t disagree more. READ ON. Lauren Conrad to dress Emmy girls

Dress by Lauren ConradAs you’ve already guessed I am quite the celebrity watcher. I have recently accepted this vice and even come to embrace it. And now I even have viable excuse… all these celebrity antics serve as great blog fodder :)

My latest celeb obsession has to be Miss Lauren Conrad (the reality TV star formerly known as L.C.). The Hills diva got her start as a babe-ette on MTV’s Laguna Beach. She was so popular that she was given her own show, which follows her as she moves to L.A. to start a career in the fashion biz.

So Lauren Conrad’s designing dresses? Read the rest of this entry »
