Lusting after: Pierre Hardy x Gap wedges

W3fcdresshahen it comes to the now pervasive clogs trend, i’m still on the fence. However, the plethora of wedges that have surfaced as a result of the former, make me very very happy. I probably spent last summer as a whole searching for wooden wedges, only to be disappointingly met with the cork variations. Enough said. This season there’s enough wedges– wooden, cork or otherwise, to go around.

With so many wedges to choose from this year, narrowing down the options can be hard. Enter this Pierre Hardy for Gap pair. A wink at Celine’s runway styles, I’m head over heels for the contrast of the pretty oversized bow and beige chunky platform. And Fashion Chalet blogger, Erika’s styling of the limited edition kicks with her French Connection posy frock has my kind of summer written all over it. Now i just have to b-line it to Gap and hope they’re still in stock.

My top 3 obsessions from Gap FW10

If you’re following LOULOU on Twitter, you already know that I was in NYC earlier this week to hang out with Patrick Robinson check out the FW10 collection, including the newly re-launched pants. From flattering skinnies (I should know, I was wearing a pair yesterday!) to a leg-lengthening bootcut, Gap will be the place to go for the perfect pants come fall. But truth be told, I wasn’t surprised: I’m already a big fan of Gap jeans and knew Robinson and his design team could work the same magic on pants.

What did surprise me? After the jump — the three pieces that blew me away.

Fast-fashion: The runway hits the High-Street

That's Chic's Rachel in a Rodarte for Target dress

That's Chic's Rachel in a Rodarte for Target dress

Last fall, Target won over the fashion world with its Rodarte for Target collection and I’m still semi-sulking over not scoring one of the Mulleavy sisters’ discount tulle dresses worn so impeccably by blogger, Rachel. Next week the mass American retailer is launching yet another surefire hit with Zac Posen for Target. The capsule collection, described by Posen as “the best summer of a girl’s life” already has fashion circles abuzz with anticipation.

By snagging a Stella McCartney for Gap limited-edition T-shirt. For $34.50 you can rock a stylish tee and support a great cause, because 50 percent of the proceeds are going to the Global Fund to help fight AIDS in Africa.

Eyes on the Sprize

sprize1

Bargain hunters, be prepared to be blown away by Sprize, a new initiative from Gap (and available to West Coasters only… for now). The concept? Sign up for Sprize, shop at Gap and if anything you buy gets marked down within 45 days, the difference is credited to your account and you have a year to spend it. Translation: No more waiting for things to get marked down — you’ll automatically get the difference back!

How much do you love this idea? Think it’ll catch on? Can any Vancouverites provide testimonials?
