Nail art: Love or hate?

After a few seasons of obsessing over highly-covetable nail polish hues (ie. last fall’s “Metro Chic,” Chanel’s “Jade,” etc.), the trend is moving towards even more unique statements: Think specialty finishes (matte, sugar-coated (!) as seen at Malandrino), glittered or embellished with designs. Of course, the latter requires an extremely skilled artist, like Vancouver-based Christina Culver who is the awesomeness behind our Vancouver correspondent Seema’s decked-out digits pictured.
Do you plan on shaking up your manicure routine? Or is colour enough?
P.S. If you think you have the skills to DIY, check out The Daily Nail for inspiration!

It looks cute, but personally I’d rather stick to colour

Colour is as far as I will go. Nail art can border on seriously tacky way too quickly for my taste. It makes me wonder, will nail rings be back for Fall2010…?

Or maybe we’ll all be coveting “3D nail art” like this: http://bit.ly/5EEePU !!

I love it. I usually wear black and white. A flashy hand painted nail design would add something special.

After seeing this post, I contacted Christina and am now sporting some amazing ‘Mondrian’ -inspired nail art! They are not something I would wear everyday, but are perfect for the holidays, and I have been getting non-stop compliments on them.
