I know that the sundress-and-sandals weather has only just (almost) begun but I’m already looking forward to the fall. There are two culprits: The first? All the amazing shoots that have been going on for the September and October issue — there’s really nothing better than fall fashion, IMO. Also, I’m a little bit obsessed with ridiculously sexy, over-the-knee boots (like the ones pictured, that are already in-stores at Browns!). Trust me, everyone will be wearing ‘em!
What else has me longing for fall? After the jump!

Today I’ll be heading over to The Shopping Channel (it’s beauty month) to talk about summer beauty trends (if you flipped through the July issue you’ll know its all about sun-kissed skin, bronzer, nudes and vibrant colours), insider tricks and my personal beauty experiences (and mistakes!). I’m super impressed with their beauty brands: Stila, Ojon, DuWop, Pur Minerals and this new green skin and body line called Revolution Organics. I went bananas for their lip balm—it’s luxuriant and rich with a light fresh lemon and grass scent. Considering what goes on our lips goes straight into our bellies, I’m loving the fact that it’s USDA certified organic–the highest level of certification available. Plus it does double duty as a conditioner for your cuticles and nails.
To see more of my beauty picks and tricks, watch LOULOU Shops Here on Thursday July 2nd at 12pm (EST). theshoppingchannel.com

Lindsay Lohan: she’s the train wreck actress we love to hate, isn’t she? Well, she is for me, anyway. I had to blog about this entire outfit she clearly put on without asking anyone for a second opinion.
What’s wrong with Lindsay’s look? Read the rest of this entry »

One of the hottest hair trends this fall will be texture: tousled, messy and volume. Plagued for the last 25 years with the unruly task of trying to de-tousle my curls while the rest of my girlfriends were desperately trying to inject volume into their manes, I have started embracing my curls (the fact that curly hair has been on-trend for the last year helps a lot too!) for what they are: sometimes ringlets, always frizzy, and loaded with volume. The good news? It may be curly with over-the-top potential, but it’ still manageable and it blows out easily.
If you’re reading this and you have curly hair (or a BFF with curly hair) you KNOW that we are hair product junkies! I’ve tried everything. I am also blessed with a mom who’s pin-straight gorgeous blond locks left her defeated faced with my reckless curls as a child- so she took the path of least resistance and cut off all my hair thereafter taking a brush to it daily, leaving me eternally scarred and breaking two of curly hair’s holy grail rules:
1. You don’t cut it off - a pixie cut is not a good look for volume-plenty, brushed-out curls
2. You do not brush it- ever.
Alas, over the years I have tried and tested my share of products, hoping every time for a half miracle. I recently tried Pantene Pro-V Style Texturize! Moussing Foam Wax, (and no miracles yet) but I have noticed a difference. I can finally attain that messy, yet clean and tousled ‘do all the “cool girls’ rock (my curly hair role model? Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City) and whether I’m styling my hair curly or straight- the results are always awesome: my curls are defined and full of shine with the perfect amount of textured frizz (not to be confused with “humid” frizz) and straight, it’s full of volume and never too perfect- which is just my style.

Pantene Pro-V Texturize! Moussing Foam Wax is great for giving your locks fall's hottest ingredient: texture!

Last weekend at the MMVA’s I met Perez Hilton, one of my fave celebrity bloggers (who is also currently making headline news in his civic law suit against Black Eyed Peas front man who allegedly socked the infamous blogger later that same night). Perez has made a name for himself mocking celebrities, and he is so good at it that he is now a celebrity in his own right.
So, I thought it was high time to turn the critical tables and cast our vote on Mr. Perez’s look from the MMVA red carpet. Did you like his ode to 80’s punk: a pink tipped Mohawk, racing-stripe make-up, and those graphic graffiti pants designed by his BFF Lady Gaga? Do you think his over-the-top personality allows him to dress horribly? Do you think its okay for a celeb to show up in oh-my-god-what-were-they-thinking-outfits?
Personally, I think his look is fugly, regardless of the fact that a celeb friend designed his pants. Just because someone is famous, doesn’t change the fact that it looks awful. No exceptions.
